Eva Chen grew up around fashion and made it her career, first at some of the most glamorous magazines on the newsstand, and now at Instagram as the director of fashion partnerships. This year Chen decided to put her talents to use in a totally new arena: a fun and fashionable children's picture book called Juno Valentine and the Magical Shoes.

Eva Chen's favorite reads of 2018
A haiku of an picture book, the illustrations are simultaneously spare, quirky, and warm. My kids love that the story changes every time (because the book has no words) but that the message—family = home—always persists. Also, because there are no words, my toddler can "read" it herself.
This series is one of my all-time favorites! It has everything—Shape shifters! Assassins! Fairies! Pirates! And, of course, the requisite dark underlords threatening our very existence! I reread this series this year in anticipation of the final book coming out in 2019 and Sarah Maas is one of my "if you could invite anyone to dinner..." dream guests.
