Fallon_Jimmy_photocreditNBC_225W.jpgEmmy Award and Grammy Award winner Jimmy Fallon continues to host one of the hottest late night shows on television.  Last year Fallon started the annual Tonight Show Summer Reads book club, inviting viewers to join in the fun of choosing the new book each year.

Fallon has also continued to write his own incredibly fun and popular children's books, and his latest is This Is Baby--one of our editors' picks for the best books of 2019 for babies and toddlers. With bright, eye-catching illustrations, and amusing text, Fallon's new picture book is joining Your Baby's First Word Will Be DADA and Everything Is Mama on the shelves of little ones across the country.

We asked this busy father, talk show host, and author, what he's been reading and loving lately.  You'll find his answers below, which include the winning 2019 Tonight Show Summer Reads book club title and a powerful memoir he likes to re-read every year:

City Dog, Country Frog by Mo Willems

Mo Willems has become one of my favorite authors over the past couple years. My family are big fans of the Elephant and Piggie books. They’re smart, they’re funny and they tackle tricky subjects in a simple way. He does the same thing with this book, which is more of a one-off from Mo. This one’s about life and friends and seasons and loss. It’s beautiful for any age person – a child, a graduate, a parent.

Howard Stern Comes Again by Howard Stern

Sometimes I like a book that I don’t have to read in order. You can leave this one on your coffee table or end table and just pick it up and read some of Howard’s best interviews (check out the Madonna and Henry Hill ones), but also the stories behind the interviews are just as interesting. A must for any fan of pop culture.

Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane

This was the winner of our 2019 Tonight Show Summer Reads book club, a contest that had almost a million votes. I didn’t know anything about the book going into it and, boy, were the fans right, this was a real page turner. The book is also being turned into a series, so read it and know it before everyone sees it on TV and ruins it for you!

Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl

This is a book I try to read every couple of years. It’s one of the most inspirational books ever written. What is the meaning of life? What do you have when you think you have nothing? Amazing and heartbreaking stories. This is a book that should be in everyone’s library.
