Some writers have very serious "author bios"—the short biographical blurb about an author that appears on the back of the jacket or on the book's final page. Some writers are a bit more playful with their author bios. Bestselling author Susan Wiggs definitely falls in the latter category. The biographical blurb on her author page on Amazon concludes with this sentence: "She lives with her husband and family at the water’s edge on an island in the Pacific Northwest, where she divides her time between sleeping and waking."
Wiggs's thousands of readers know that they can rely on her to craft stories that burrow into the heart, and her most recent novel, Between You and Me, does just that. We asked Wiggs what books she was reading and recommending lately, and here's what she had to say.
I wish I could read all day every day! And in between, I want to be a book evangelist! Some recent favorites:

Part book, part toy, part science project. I am now so smart about bees that they don't even scare me anymore. Plus it gave me a project to make with my granddaughter. Something for kids of all ages.
The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell by Robert Dugoni
I've been a fan of Dugoni's thrillers for years. This is something very different and very special—a kindhearted, compelling tale of a boy's coming-of-age and a man's self-discovery, told with compassion and tenderness.
Good Luck with That by Kristan Higgins
I don't believe this is out yet, but fans of books about women's friendships will want to preorder it. This is a bold, funny, sad, courageous novel of three best friends, a tragedy, and ultimately, a hard-won triumph of the spirit. You'll want these girls for YOUR best friends.
Two If by Sea by Jacquelyn Mitchard
This is on my Kindle right now—a remarkable story of a lost man and the foundling who changes his life. Heart-stopping action and emotionally searing scenes...Please don't spoil the ending for me!
