Jenna Bush Hager's 2020 summer reads

Former first daughter, co-host of Today with Hoda & Jenna, and unapologetic book nerd, Jenna Bush Hager, is also a best-selling author. This September she will release Everything Beautiful in Its Time: Seasons of Love and Loss, a love letter to her grandparents that shares the life lessons they imparted to her.

As the leader of the TODAY book club, #ReadWithJenna, Ms. Hager knows a thing or two about what makes a great read. Here are some recent favorites.

All Adults Here by Emma Straub

I’ve read The Vacationers and Modern Lovers, both in the summer. Emma Straub's books are like a rosé wine served best while the sun shines, bright and bubbling. Her quick wit and compulsively readable plots make her books perfect summer reads. All Adults Here is no exception. It is a story about families, love and forgiveness that you can read in a single sitting.

A Burning by Megha Majumdar

A Burning is a debut novel about love, loyalty and forgiveness. It will break your heart and put it back together again.

Summer Sisters by Judy Blume

Summer Sisters may just be the perfect summer read of all time. The queen, Judy Blume, writes a juicy story of friendship. My sister and I read this and then passed it on to many friends, the sisterhood of the traveling book. PS: My sister (ironically!) told me there is rumor of the book being made into a TV series.

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield is one of my favorite books of all time. I love a British mystery and this gothic suspense kept me guessing until the end.
