The Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav

I reread this after my podcast with Oprah. It’s a powerful reminder that we’re all connected, and that the micro-interactions we have with others have real weight. Both in work and in life, it outlines a way to create authentic power through higher consciousness.

Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini, PhD

It sounds dorky, but I read a lot of business books these days. This is a classic: it delves into how and why influence works and the specific dynamics at play when leading a company.

Shakti Leadership by Nilima Bhat and Raj Sisodia

I think a lot about the culture we are trying to create at goop. We work incredibly hard, but it’s crucial to me that this isn’t a cut-throat, divisive environment. We’re blessed that we have a mostly female C-suite; this book teaches us to embrace the feminine qualities that have historically been neglected in leadership because they were perceived as weak. I’m steadfast in the belief that empathy and listening generously inspires great work.
