Austin Kleon might be one of the most optimistic and motivating people on earth. His best-selling books -- I would characterize them as graphic art books for people who want to develop their creative side -- are a combination of aspiration, inspiration, and common sense. He started in 2012 with Steal Like an Artist, which is described as "an inspiring guide to creativity in the digital age" and presents ten principles to help readers discover their artistic side and build a more creative life. That was followed in 2014 by Show Your Work, which has this description: "It’s about getting findable, about using the network instead of wasting time 'networking.' It’s not self-promotion, it’s self-discovery?let others into your process, then let them steal from you."
Now in Keep Going, Kleon reminds us that, when it comes to creation, today is the only day that matters. Inside the book you will find messages about staying positive and getting your work done and paying attention to what you pay attention to. He also talks about blocking out all the noise. Like Kleon himself, his books are optimistic and motivating. And they are something unique unto themselves. Which is why they have resonated with readers and achieved bestsellerdom.
