The National Book Critics Circle Awards were presented on March 14, 2019, at the New School in New York City. The awards focus on books published in English and the United States in 2018.

The National Book Critics Circle selects awards in six categories: Fiction, Nonfiction, Biography, Autobiography, Poetry, and Criticism. The National Book Critics Circle also awarded the John Leonard Prize, established to recognize outstanding first books in any genre.
