Prime Day's Must-Have Kitchen Gadgets--And The Cookbooks To Go With Them

Seira Wilson on July 16, 2018

I've been hovering over my computer at the office all morning, but not a lot of actual work is getting done because it's Prime Day (!) and I've got some serious shopping to do... I'm kind of all over the place in what I look for because there's so much variety in the Prime Day deals, but one I'm always watching for is on kitchen gadgets.  This year, Prime Day includes one kitchen gadget I love and use all the time--the Instant Pot--and one that I've been coveting: a Vitamix blender.  Both are on sale now*.

Whether you already own one of these handy kitchen gadgets, or are getting a new one for yourself or a lucky gift recipient, below is some inspiration for making the most of them: two cookbooks for each machine that showcase their many delicious possibilities.

*Individual deals on the Instant Pot and Vitamix blenders are good until Tuesday, July 17, 2017 11:59 p.m. PST or while supplies last.

Vitamix Blenders

All three of these models are part of Prime Day:

This is one kitchen appliance I still don't have, but I think today is the day I remedy that... My reluctance to buy one has been price--will I really use it enough to justify the cost?  That's where Prime Day comes in.  I think with a good deal (check) and a couple good cookbooks (check), this could become my favorite new kitchen gadget.

The Vitamix Cookbook: 250 Delicious Whole Food Recipes to Make in Your Blender by Jodi Berg

This is kind of the Vitamix bible right now, created by the folks who probably know more than anyone what the machine is capable of: Vitamix chefs.  250 recipes show you how to make your own pizza sauce, grind your own cornmeal for polenta, and if you're making soup in it, the blender actually heats it up at the same time.  Genius.

Instant Pot DUO60 6 Qt 7-in-1 Multi-Use Programmable Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Steamer, Sauté, Yogurt Maker and Warmer

I have this exact Instant Pot, and I love it.  One of the great things about it, besides ease of use and speedy meals, is that there are so many cookbooks out now just for Instant Pot cooking. It's opened up a world of possibilities beyond the little recipe insert that comes with the unit, and the cookbooks below are two of my favorites.
