I’ve been a reader since the Ice Age. I was the ultimate nerd who would sneak out of the house, not for a party, but to go to the library. Even though I’ve written a hundred books, I still identify as a reader every bit as much as I do an author. It’s in my blood, can’t get enough.
Here are some recent reads that kept my mind from angsting while writing Almost Just Friends and The Summer Deal. :)
—Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author of Almost Just Friends
Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
Unbelievably sexy, incredibly honest. I loved this heroine so, so much. She is real, different, and wonderful.
My Fake Rake by Eva Leigh
Involves nerds and pining—you can never go wrong with pining—and I so adored the role reversal of My Fair Lady. I can’t wait for more books in this series.
Well Met by Well Met by Jen DeLuca
This one was fun, flirty, sassy, and I adored the different take on the best friend’s brother and fake marriage. And the hero and heroine are ren faire nerds—need I say more?
We Are Never Meeting in Real Life.: Essays by Samantha Irby
This one is a memoir consisting of essays. Very real, dark at times, but the wit and candor snagged me from the start. Laugh-out-loud funny but also very realistic and honest.
