Wall of Silence by Tracy Buchanan

For those looking for a page-turning, whodunit roller-coaster:

Her children have a deadly secret. Can she uncover it before the police do? In Tracy Buchanan’s twisty psychological thriller, a mother is pushed to the limits to protect the ones she loves. After she finds her husband stabbed in the kitchen, the story unravels into a whodunit and cover-up that Buchanan's editor said she "couldn’t put [it] down. I read it in one sitting, and even now, long after I turned the last page, I still find myself thinking about how well we know the family members that surround us."

The Club King: My Rise, Reign, and Fall in New York Nightlife by Peter Gatien

For those missing the bump and grind of clubs:

Peter Gatien was truly the King of Clubs in New York City in the 1970s and 1980s—he created the hype, the fun, the environment for people to party, dance, drink, and sweat all night long while listening to music and letting go. He introduced rock, house, grunge, hip-hop, techno to those that waited on line eager for a chance in the lights and to perhaps bump shoulders with famous actors, artists, musicians of the moment. Gatien brings us deep into the dark of his clubs (Limelight, Tunnel, Club USA, and Palladium…for those that tripped the light fantastic), his childhood, his inspiration, learning the entertainment biz, and, yes, the drug busts and the fall from favor.

Rosie: Stronger than Steel by Lindsay Ward

For those looking for something entertaining and educational for their little ones:

Inspired by the group of American women collectively known as “Rosie the Riveter,” Rosie: Stronger than Steel is “one part plucky vehicle story, one part World War II women’s history, and one part reminder about coming together when it counts the most,” says the editor of the book, Kelsey Skea. Told with rhythm and delightful illustrations, this story about a little tractor that could is both entertaining and educational.
