The fall is always a big time for cookbooks and this year is no exception. There are too many titles we're excited about to include them all here, but I can at least give you a little preview of what's in store in the coming months.
A new cookbook from Ina Garten? Check. A new Skinnytaste cookbook? Check. Vegetarian and gluten-free are also in high demand this year. Comfort food and taking our home cooked meals to the next level are popular themes this fall, as you'll see in the list of six fabulous titles you'll likely want to add to your shelf or give to others over the holidays.

Modern Comfort Food: A Barefoot Contessa Cookbook by Ina Garten
Like many others, I have all of Ina Garten's cookbooks and am looking forward to adding a new one. While Garten has included comfort food in her previous cookbooks, this time it's the focus. Modern Comfort Food (October 6) has 85 new recipes that take familiar favorites to the next level. Is grilled cheese your go-to? You'll want to check out Ina's Cheddar and Chutney Grilled Cheese. Everything we love about Ina's cookbooks: simplicity, easy instructions, and incredible flavors is all here. This cookbook is definitely at the top of my can't-wait-for-it list.
True Comfort: More Than 100 Cozy Recipes Free of Gluten and Refined Sugar by Kristin Cavallari
TV star and home cook Kristin Cavallari built a loyal following with her first cookbook, True Roots, and now she adds her own spin to the comfort food craze. True Comfort (September 29) has 130 recipes for some of the familiar dishes we crave, only Cavallari has made them accessible for those who are gluten-free or looking for low-sugar modifications. I love a Nashville hot chicken sandwich but I'm happy to skip the bun and try Cavallari's Nashville Hot Chicken Lettuce Cups instead. My gluten-free friends will definitely be getting this one come December...
Just Feed Me: Simply Delicious Recipes from My Heart to Your Plate by Jessie James Decker
In her book, Just Jessie, country music star and lifestyle guru Jessie James Decker shared much of her home life and personal recollections with readers, along with some recipes. Now, Decker invites fans straight into the kitchen with her first cookbook, Just Feed Me (September 22). Many of the recipes Decker includes have been handed down from her mother and include dishes with Italian, Cajun, and Southern influences. This is a cookbook from the heart, with not only recipes, but also inspiration and anecdotes to enjoy along the way.
We love Gina Homolka and her cookbooks always deliver on their promise. In the case of Skinnytaste Meal Prep (September 15), Homolka shares her tips and time-saving strategies for making healthy meals without the hassle. The 120 recipes include dishes that can be made ahead, frozen, and then reheated without losing their luster. A little prep goes a long way, and so do Homolka's creative recipes for make-ahead meals that won't require an extra trip to the grocery store before serving or eating. Making healthy meals is about to get a whole lot easier...
Angela Liddon's Oh She Glows cookbook remained a bestseller long after it was published in 2014 and we are eagerly awaiting her third cookbook, Oh She Glows for Dinner (October 13). Liddon's approach to whole-food, plant based meals has made her cookbooks favorites with home cooks—not only vegans but with many of us who are looking for tasty, creative ideas for adding more meatless meals to our lives. Oh She Glows for Dinner includes not only weeknight dinners, but also special occasion dishes and a super handy index for recipes tuned to particular food allergies or cooking methods.
Matty Matheson: Home Style Cookery by Matty Matheson

Matheson starts with the basics of pantry staples and then moves into a wealth of delicious appetizers, quick-fix meals, dishes for celebrating and a crazy-tall Seven-Layer Dip that's not to be missed.
