William Goldman's classic novel The Princess Bride was published in 1973. That's forty-four years ago, which means the bride is about to enter her sapphire anniversary... at least as far as the book is concerned. If you're a fan of the movie version of "The Princess Bride," which was released in 1987, then this year marks the 30th anniversary (pearl and diamond anniversary)--and in honor of that milestone, Houghton Mifflin is publishing The Princess Bride Deluxe Edition in early October. They can't re-release the movie, so they're releasing a deluxe hardcover version of the book.
Since we're fans of both the book and the movie, we asked for some samples of the book to show to you. Click on the pictures to increase their size.

The book is always better than the movie.
