October was a big month for books and we really had our hands full trying to narrow down our list of favorites. Those 31 days went by in a flash and somehow it's already November (um, how did that even happen!?) but we don't want to skip out on all the goodness of last month. Adrian, Erin, Chris, and I squeezed ourselves into the podcast booth to talk about some of our favorite titles on the best books of October list. And a few other tangentially book related topics. You know how it goes, talking about books usually leads to so much more... So, if you're thinking about what to read next, we've got a few suggestions in this podcast.
I also sat down with Megan Phelps-Roper, author of the memoir Unfollow: A Memoir of Loving and Leaving the Westboro Baptist Church. One of our picks for the best books of October, Unfollow is a candid account of growing up in what's been called the most hated church in America. Phelps-Roper fills us in on her journey and what's been happening since she left the church and started a new life. Her story and positive outlook are incredibly inspiring and hopeful in these turbulent times.
