Sure, you could make a New Year’s resolution about calling friends on the phone more often or finally—finally!—incorporating morning meditation into your routine. But let’s be real: The very best resolution is to read more books than you read last year.

To help me with this resolution are these upcoming romance novels that I plan to crack open as soon as they come out. All the authors have written page-turners before (and chuckle-inducers, and heartstring-pullers), so I’m confident I’ll be in good hands.

The Sinner (The Black Dagger Brotherhood series Book 18) by J.R. Ward

A J.R. Ward book is always a roller-coaster ride, and I expect nothing less from the newest entry in her long-running Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Vampire Syn has kept some of his more seemingly nefarious activities off the radar of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, but a job that entangles the Brotherhood’s ancient enemy as well as a woman in mortal peril makes Syn impossible for the Brotherhood to ignore. Sizzling chemistry between the hero and heroine, a complex world of vampires and their ilk, and marvelously silly character names will likely make this new novel another winner with Ward’s readers.
